We are just a short drive from lots of local wineries, beaches, golf courses, marine reserve and Kawau Island via ferry from Sandspit. Of course, right on our doorstep we have fabulous bars, cafes, restaurants, shops and the cinema. Below we have a small sample of our local delights for you to enjoy.

Glass Bottom Boat     Goat Island Marine Reserve Ph: 09 422 6334	Come and see the underwater world on our Glass Bottom Boat. We are operating at the world renowned Goat Island Marine Reserve, only 1 hours drive North from Auckland. We run trips through the year, weather permitting. Our most popular trip is the 45 minute "Round the Island" trip which takes you to the big caves. Our 30 minute "Inner Reef" trip is good substitute if the conditions don't allow us to go around the island .  All our trips have full commentary and are fun and educational for all ages.  To avoid disappointment, please call and check weather and sea conditions before leaving your base.
Goat Island Dive   142A Pakiri Rd Ph: 09 422 6925	You can enjoy New Zealand's famous 'Coastal Aquarium" with us, scuba dive or snorkel from the safe Goat Island marine reserve beach. For the more adventurous, join in our dive charters to the outer islands where you will always find an abundance of New Zealand marine life and fish playfully surrounding you. Learn to dive with our experienced PADI instructors giving you the certification to dive anywhere in the world or why not try an introductory scuba dive and get up close and personal with the New Zealand’s friendliest fish. Full gear hire and retail available.
Mahurangi Regional Park	This park protects several bays and coastal features about the mouth of the historic Mahurangi Harbour, and occupies parts of three peninsulas.   Mahurangi West Regional Park begins across the Puhoi River, north of Wenderholm, and extends along Te Muri Beach to Sullivan Bay and Meter Bay - accessible only off State Highway 1 (north of Wenderholm) via the Pukapuka Mahurangi West Road. It is farmed but feel free to wander.   Campsites are available. Scott's Landing is on the East Mahurangi Road, off State Highway 1 at Warkworth, and includes the historic Scott Homestead. Mahurangi East is accessible only by boat. A major volunteer re-vegetation programme is underway on this beautiful peninsula.

Matakana River Kayaks Matakana Wharf, Matakana Village Ph: 09 422 7768  Cell: 021 597 086	Matakana River Kayaks is fun and a great way to spend a couple of hours while enjoying your stay. We provide life jackets & basic kayaking instructions, river knowledge and pick-up service for a safe leisurely fully guided paddle from Matakana Wharf to Sandspit or Sandspit to Matakana. Tours are tidal and bookings are a essential. $50.00 single & $95.00 dble muffins, chocolate cake, hot/cold drinks under Matakana's Veranda by river included.
